Prof Stephanie Dakin leads the Dakin Lab Group, her research aims to understand the cellular and molecular basis underpinning the development of chronic inflammatory fibrosis affecting musculoskeletal tissues. Prof Dakin’s group are pioneering the development of 3D organoid models which can be used as functional mechanistic assays to advance understanding of the cellular basis of disease and test new therapeutics to resolve inflammation and fibrosis affecting musculoskeletal tissues. Prof Dakin will lead the development of 3D organoids to model fibrotic musculoskeletal diseases in this programme.
