Dr Andrew Bretherick is as a quantitative geneticist in the Molecular Mechanisms Cluster. He has previously worked on a number of molecular and disease traits, including exploring the genetics of host susceptibility to severe COVID-19. Andrew was appointed as a Senior Lecturer in Molecular Psychiatry at the University of Edinburgh in April 2026. Prior to this he worked as a Senior Clinical Research Fellow and an Honorary Consultant in Anaesthetics.
