New Postdoctoral Bioinformatician Joins the Data Coordination Centre

We are pleased to welcome Rachael Thompson as a Postdoctoral Bioinformatician in the Data Coordination Centre. In her new role, Rachael will support the analysis of functional genomics datasets generated across the Initiative, helping to advance our understanding of how genetic variation influences human physiology.

Rachael brings valuable expertise in cancer genomics and transcriptomics. Her previous research has focused on the expression of retrotransposable elements in cancer, exploring their potential roles in disease development and progression. During her PhD, she worked to identify novel cancer-specific antigens and biomarkers of disease presence, contributing to efforts to improve early detection and targeted therapies.

We look forward to the insights and impact Rachael will bring to the team and the broader Initiative.
